A few weekends ago while in NYC, Rob Haze was able to drop in a premiere event for the newest installment of the Barbershop franchise, Barbershop: The Next Cut. While with COMEDY HYPE, Rob had a chance to talk with some of the film’s cast that included Cedric The Entertainer, EVE, Common and more. When it came down to our moment with Common, the Chicago rapper went on to talk about his time on The Chappelle Show, and why it was one of the most iconic comedy series to hit TV.
Dave Chappelle was incredible … He is like one of the funniest person we’ve ever seen. He’s so smart. The way they put those skits together. It was fun to watch, it was powerful. They had something to say. It’s what i like about this movie, it’s funny… but it has something to say.
When asked what comedian’s style he would have if he did comedy, Common kept on course with the topic and named Chappelle. Barbershop: The Next Cut is out now in theaters nationwide.
