During the MadTV days, Aries Spears and the guys of ‘Key And Peele’ once had to share stage. Now as Key and Peele venture into new projects like their film Keanu; Aries Spears has something to say on the comedy duo. During an interview with VladTV about his thoughts on Key And Peele’s authenticity, he went on to suggest the men didn’t represent the true identity of blacks in their work.
Good guys …. Is it ironic that most of their friends are white and they got white wives…. Their new movie is genius… they’re two black dudes who are black but are so white internally that they are uncomfortable in that black surrounding and it’s a brilliant move because they’re really like that
Soon following his explanation, Aries then suggested how he and Will Smith favor in an ability to appeal to both black and white audiences. The conversation touches on comedy, and skits dealing with slavery.
