Writer and creator Issa Rae got her early start online but is now solidifying her name on HBO. Today apart of a line up of other comedy series; HBO shared that Issa’s creation about two female friends will be premiering on their network in the fall.
This is what we know so far about the series
HBO has made it official, announcing today that Issa Rae’s comedy series “Insecure” will debut this fall, and unfold over 8 half-hour episodes. The network didn’t give an exact date and time, but just know that the series will debut in the fall. Further announcements coming… Starring Issa Rae, Yvonne Orji, Jay Ellis and Lisa Joyce, “Insecure” looks at the friendship of two black women and their uncomfortable experiences and racy tribulations. Created and executive produced by Issa Rae, the show is also executive produced by Prentice Penny, Melina Matsoukas, Michael Rotenberg, Dave Becky and Jonathan Berry. Larry Wilmore serves as a consultant.
